Life goes on in the South Pacific

Things are going great here-- they keep getting better. This place is definitely starting to grow on me, although it took some getting used to. Teaching is going really well, although the results of my last quiz were... close to pathetic. My students whined about how hard it was, but I know they didn't study. I have to finish grading them tonight, but I've been putting it off because I'm tired of making so many marks with my red pen. (Although, the past 6 weeks have taught me what a power trip the red pen can give you... it's pretty sweet.)

I've been trying to keep busy, but I still get bored a lot. I was reading a book called the Savage Detectives, by Roberto Bolano, which is very acclaimed--but I found it so dull. So, I just stopped reading it, and I never stop reading books halfway through! I've moved onto a new novel and I'm much happier with this one. I am still waiting to get the Internet hooked up at my house though... still... waiting...

I got a letter all the way from Mali today! My freshman year roommate, Virginia, is a Peace Corps Volunteer there. This is the first letter I've received from anyone, except my parents and my brother. So... to all my friends back home... Please? I have a lot of time of my hands and I will write you back, probably the same day! It's the responsibility of our generation to keep the dying art of letter writing alive! And getting things in the mail is so exciting! Plus, mailing to Micronesia is the same as domestic postage.

Just in case you want to send me something, here's my address:
