So, my blog caused quite a stir on this tiny island yesterday. My first experience with the infamous coconut wireless. Good to know.

To anyone I offended or upset, I am so, so sorry. That truly was not my intention and the posts have been edited. I've been living in Manhattan for the last four years, so I guess I'm used to being pretty anonymous...which will obviously not be possible here. I truly didn't mean any harm and I do sincerely care about the reputation of WorldTeach; I think it's an incredible organization and I'm so proud to be volunteering here with WT. So, again, I'm really sorry for any harm I caused. Please don't hate me, especially if you haven't even met me yet.

That being said, I believe firmly in the value of journalistic integrity. I don't plan on censoring myself, nor do I plan on making this blog private (for the time being). But this isn't a news article or an academic paper: It's a blog, so it's only based on my opinions and my own critical lens. I will relay my experiences honestly and, hopefully, in an entertaining fashion. In regards to me being fresh off the boat, I know that I'm new here and I'm not trying to write under any other pretense. However, I don't think being new gives me less of a right to share my feelings and experiences with others.

To my friends and family back home, I miss you and I love you! This blog is for you so I hope you'll continue to read it! (And if you want a postcard/letter, send me your address...)
