I am currently dealing with the worst Internet connection I've ever dealt with in my life. And I may just be sitting in the hottest Internet cafe I've ever sat in in my life. And I think I just contracted malaria from at least one of the 45 mosquitos that has bitten me in the past half hour while I've been waiting for this page to load. But hey! I'm in India, so what to do?
Just an update on what exactly I'm doing and why I'm here: I'm spending the semester abroad with the International Honors Program, studying urban planning and sustainable development. I'm traveling with 23 other students and three faculty and having a blast so far. We started with 2 weeks in New York City (ah, so foreign to me!) and now we're continuing with 5 weeks in Bangalore, India, 5 weeks in Cape Town, South Africa, and 5 weeks in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Then I'll be heading to Peru for a week to hike Machu Picchu with one other girl from this program and potentially another friend from home.
Very exciting. I had hoped to keep a consistent blog like I did in Brazil, but I don't have a laptop and the Internet has been kind of sketchy so I'm not sure how this will pan out. I'll definitely try and update as often as possible though.
Coming soon (as in, as soon as my zip drive will load... 45 minutes and counting): An actual entry about some of my thouhts on India. Don't hold your breath.
Love to all friends and family. AND HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DAD!! (I didn't forget, I swear! The phone connection in this lovely establishment has not been in working order for three days and the server will not even allow my email page to load... so an ecard was out of the question. Will call soon though!!!)
